Katherine Heigl reveals that she was brought up in a white bubble and how this experience impacted the way she raised her adopted, multiracial children. The actress "Firefly Lane" spoke to an interviewer that it was not important how dark her skin color was for her. After meeting her adopted Korean American older sister, she noticed the differences in how people were treated by her. "I inquired of Meg whether she felt different when she went out with us parents than those who went out alone. She said, 'Oh, sure, I was treated the same way all the time!' Heigl talked to parents about when she realized her naivet . She admitted to becoming upset, but she felt that she had use that anger to help the adopted children she has. Heigl shares a son of four years and Josh Kelley, her husband for 13 years. Their child Nancy Leigh was adopted from South Korea by the couple in 2009; Adalaide is an Black 8-year old girl that adopted in the year 2012.
