Her birth date was the 29th of March, 1985 in Roswell New Mexico. Gerina Michelle Mendoza has been her birth name. Gerina Stevenson's parents were Mexican Alan Stevenson & Rita Stevenson. She is American and is of Mexican American heritage. She has always been a fan of sports. Gerina took up golf when she turned 15 years old. Gerina was a student at Goddard High School for her high school education. When she was in the high school level, she was able to win the New Mexico state golf tournament. Along with volleyball, she competed on the state level. She enrolled in the University of Texas, Texas during the 2003 academic year. Through the latter seasons of her professional career, she had won every tournament that she participated in. During the undergraduate seasons, she won as the conference's best player of year, as well as UTEP's Female Athletic of the Year.
